So I was reading the little handbook/brochure for my daughter's kindergarten earlier. Children are no longer supposed to bring invitations to a party or gifts, cards, etc. for other children unless the whole class is invited or participating in the gift/card exchange. When did this happen? I understand not allowing it to be done during class time. That's a no brainer. But the reason they stated was "to be sensitive to the feelings of the children" not invited or participating. When did the world change that society felt the need to protect the children from the reality that not everybody is going to like you and not everyone is your friend? Has society become so afraid and paranoid of what it has become that we are perhaps taking things to far in shielding our children from the real world?
Ok. I'm done ranting. I just thought it was a stupid thing.

It is the reason that our youth has so many problems these days... this "sensitivity" to their feelings hasn't done them any favors in my opinion.
